What is this place?

Originally, The Outlet was conceived of as an overflow - an outlet - from Twitter posts. Twitter may have gone down the gurgler lately and some enlightened folks jumped to Mastodon for their microblogging fix, but still: Sometimes you just need a bit more space to flex your fingers, somewhere at least semi-permanent to pop your stuff.

I wanted a place to do that, and quickly realised that I didn't want to use anything commercial. I have a bit of background in web server admin and have dabbled in coding, and ideally I wanted something open source, and pure.

I came across ghost and it seemed to fit the bill. Clean, simple, non-intrusive and importantly open-source.
